Is voodoo bad? In this video, I work to debunk the stigma and stereotypes around Voodoo and Vodun.
So, whenever people ask me about Voodoo, or more correctly, Vodun, they always ask me the following questions? Do I belong to a cult? Do I perform animal sacrifices? Then, they say things like, man you really believe in this stuff, basically implying that I believe in superstition. Then, they start to treat me differently, almost like I’m evil or crazy. Honestly, I can understand why people are in the closet, and why they refuse to share with the world their religious beliefs. So, in this video, I am going to debunk many of the myths associated with Voodoo. Stay tuned.
Corruption in voodoo practices
I think that the biggest issue that people have with African derived religions or practices, is that they don’t have a sense of self-awareness. They don’t know who they are. This happens because people don’t do the work and the research necessary to choose the right path for them. Normally, they go and get a reading, and then they allow themselves to be recruited. This is problematic because in the early stages of your studies, you have yet to gain the knowledge and the intuition to understand these practices thoroughly. So, as a result, the religion or practice begins to shape you, instead of you shaping the religion. Then, you find yourself becoming something or someone you were never supposed to be.
The dangers of voodoo beliefs
People who lack self-awareness normally get recruited into cults. Now, when I say cults, I am not just referring to cults in African derived religions. I am referring to New Age cults, Christian cults, sex cults and so on. In many cases, people are looking for things that are outside of themselves. They’re attracted to the cult, or the people around them because they meet an unmet need, and/or they make them feel a certain way. In fact, that’s the main strategy of a cult. Their goal is to overload you with emotions, and then once you’re lured in, they start sucking you dry. Basically, once you’ve disconnected yourself from all your friends and family, they start to ask you for weird request, such as large sums of money, or even sex.
Voodoo practices and rituals
In fact, I think that’s the biggest problem. I think a lot of people look at the religion based on what they can get from it. There is this Western mind-set where people want to use this religion to get their lower desires met. The Western world has brainwashed them to want instant gratification. As a result of this, they don’t really take the time to build the necessary relationship with the Lwa or the Orishas. In fact, a lot of these people or worshipers in other religions and only come to the Orishas when they have a special request. Sadly, these tend to be the people who get ripped off by charlatans, and scam artist. These are the people who look for others to fix their life. It’s a gamble, you’re essentially putting your life into someone else’s hands. And when you do that, you put yourself into a position to be used and abused.

Family lines are very important. Voodoo is a practice and Vodun is a religion that is passed down from generation to generation. Now, back in the day, there was no Internet, and they’re weren’t too many people advertising their services in the phone book. Rather, people heard of these practitioners through word of mouth. So, a practitioner’s reputation grew in proportion to how successful they were. So, the charlatans would come and set up shop, rip off people, and leave. They wouldn’t stay long because the word would spread throughout the town, or they would be chased off by real voodoo practitioners.
What is voodoo magic
So today, you have social media, and the Internet. You can go on YouTube and find people. You can go on Twitter, and Facebook and find workers and practitioners. However, there is no real way of discerning if they’re real, or credible. People can write fake testimonials, they can buy followers, hell they can even get people to do fake reviews. Today, it is very difficult to figure out who’s real, and who’s not real. This is why, you need to sit and figure out who you are, and get in touch with your ancestors. Then, you have to let them lead you to the right people. Remember, the real voodoo magic is going to be based on the strength of your ancestors.
Voodoo black magic and insanity
Self- awareness is key. And the reason why I keep knocking you over the head about self-awareness is that you need to understand the strength of the ancestors. In my other video, New Year’s Money Ritual, I spoke to you about the power of ashe. I mentioned that your ancestors are a great source of power and energy. Now, everyone is born from different lines, and thus have varying levels of energy. So then, people become initiated, and once they’re initiated, they then become part of someone else’s line. Also, In my other video, how to awaken your psychic abilities, I spoke about the importance of increasing your intuition.
Why do people go crazy?
So, if you put into the work of building your intuition before you get initiated. Your efforts will be magnified. For example, if you build your intuition up to 20% the initiation is going to magnify your power by 20%. Now, people go crazy, because sadly, not only the good things are being magnified, but also the bad. So, anything that is suppressed inside of you, is going to be magnified. This causes people to have delusions and obsessions.
There are a lot of people who adopt these really huge egos, you can’t tell them nothing. The ego inflation is a result of their own internal issues with inadequacy. There’s other people who believe that others are out to get them, as a result of this, they curse and hex people. Sadly, this delusion derives from an inner state of insecurity. Others have infatuations and obsessions with people they barely know. This happens because they crave intimacy and romance. Sadly, they’re not getting those things in their everyday life, so then they fantasize about it. And the fantasy actually turns into an obsession or infatuation when you project it onto someone else.
Voodoo facts
The one thing that you need to understand is that those who practice voodoo or Vodun, or some form of African derived religions are people. We make mistakes, we drop the ball, and none of us are 100% right all the time. Just understand that this is all a process that is filled with highs and lows. And someone who is genuine will be with you the entire time. However, before you work with someone, make sure that you have an ideal of who you are. This will enable you to choose wisely and safely.
